collaborate with us: Surface Pattern Artists

A Home for Thoughtful Creatives

We welcome designers who create thoughtful, emotionally attuned patterns grounded in subtle detail and quiet beauty.

If your pattern work carries calm rhythm, soft movement, and a hand-touched sensibility, we’d love to see your world.

Elderberry Garden Wallpaper in Soft Cream - Huggleberry Hill

The Aesthetic World We Operate In

We’re drawn to creativity that feels…

  • organic and fluid
  • softly detailed
  • atmospheric or textural
  • hand-crafted rather than overly precise
  • emotionally warm
  • grounded in natural rhythm and movement
  • calm, but not dull
  • expressive, but not loud

Patterns may be botanical, abstract, geometric, or conceptual, as long as they feel alive, attuned, and thoughtfully made.

What a Collaboration Includes:

Each collaboration becomes a pattern capsule with a small, intentional set of coordinated designs and motifs.

A typical capsule includes:

Three coordinating hero patterns

These might vary in:

  • scale
  • density
  • rhythm
  • complexity

Think of them as a pattern family, each one supporting and deepening the others.

A supporting library of motifs

6-10 motifs that may be used for:

  • wall art
  • stationery
  • journals
  • repeat accents
  • digital assets within our signature Attuned Home Method™
  • seasonal products

A shared emotional or seasonal story

Whether it's grounding, renewal, connection, quiet joy, each capsule has a feeling.

These are guided by Huggleberry Hill's atmospheric color palette and tones.

This structure protects cohesion while leaving room for expressive creativity.

Our Collaboration Process:

Step 1: Creative Briefing and Concept Direction

We meet on video call to review the creative brief in detail.

We agree on the theme, palette, and technical scope.

We outline deadlines, deliverables, and working methods.

Step 2: Motif Development and Initial Sketches

The artist creates hand-drawn or digital motif sketches.

We review early shapes, textures, and line qualities.

We confirm which motifs will move forward into repeats.

Step 3: Primary Pattern Construction

The artist builds the first repeat using approved motifs.

We review scale, spacing, and repeat structure together.

We may adjust layout to ensure a clean, seamless final tile.

Step 4: Secondary Patterns and Coordinating Designs

The artist creates additional coordinating repeat patterns.

We check consistency in palette, style, and visual rhythm.

We ensure the collection functions as a cohesive capsule.

Step 5: Refinement and File Preparation

The artist refines and tests all repeats for clean tiling and print readiness.

We review the work and provide final approval or small adjustments.

The artist prepares layered, organised production-ready files.

We confirm file structure, naming, and compatibility for our systems.

Step 6: Final Delivery

The artist provides clean, layered digital files in the agreed formats.

We confirm technical accuracy for pattern, motif, and asset use.

The artist delivers organised folders prepared for production workflows.

We complete a calm, clear sign-off to close the capsule together and apply it to product.
